If I had a superpower, I think it would be "the ability to adapt."
Before I turned 18, I lived in seven different homes, moved to six different states, and spent two years in Seoul, South Korea. My refuge during those times of change was my unending urge to create a safe, comfortable space for myself in every home we moved to. I remember my parents walking in during the middle of my rearranging, hearing me say, "I just have this idea!" I would constantly move my bed, desk, rugs, you name it around. I would adjust until it was just right, until this new space felt like me. I adapted what I had to my new environment.
I was given the freedom to create my space the way I wanted, and that has carried on into adulthood. Now, my family of five has moved four times, and each home and renovation has allowed me to hone my skills in adapting our existing furniture and ever-changing needs to new spaces and styles.
Today, I help clients consider how to live in their space, what is essential and what isn't, and how to make a home adapt to and reflect its owners' personalities.
